Mortgage Loan Processor Lead

Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION
Process mortgage loan transactions from processing to closing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Assist in initial and ongoing training of processors, providing direction and assistance to resolve any processing issues
• Provide goal setting and daily leadership by managing and directing processors. Ensures all processers have the knowledge, skills, and ability to meet performance goals.
• Work with Operations Manager and Underwriting Manager to develop processes and procedures to create greater efficiencies and accuracies in Loan Processing
• Ensure processing teams are in compliance with policies and guidelines
• Ensure all QC and suspense processing findings are promptly resolved. Assists with implementation of any processing action plans resulting from QC or suspense findings.
• Identify, resolve, and remediate processing issues using creative problem-solving skills
• Assist in monitoring processing metrics, including productivity, quality, and turn times, and support the preparation and compilation of required management reports
• Assist with recruiting, hiring, and staffing of the processing teams
• Develop and maintain a strong working relations with other departments to build a proactive and organized culture that will move the business forward
• Maintain a positive team environment that is efficient and productive, rewards performance excellence, and is supportive of Eagle Bank’s culture and values
• Provide back up support to various processing teams as needed.
• Provide status updates to Loan Officers and Management.
• Typing, standing, lifting boxes/files, extended reaching, etc.
• Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities.
• Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems, and personal computers.
• Compute, record, and proofread data and other information, such as records or reports.
• Review files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests.
• Process and prepare documents, such as business or government forms.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Upper Management.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Strong understanding of FHA/VA/RD/Conventional mortgage loan requirements and process flow
• Strong knowledge of submitting loans to DU/LP/GUS.
• Financial analysis knowledge.
• Strong written and oral communication
• Time management skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills


TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
• Minimum five years of mortgage processing experience
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Encompass LOS.
• Internet Savvy
• Must have proficient knowledge of DU/LP, TRID Compliance, HVCC Regulations.
• Must be able to proficiently process FHA, VA, Conventional, and USDA Mortgage Loans within stringent time frames.
• Extensive knowledge of Fannie, Freddie, FHA, VA, and RD guidelines. Jumbo and bond loan experience is a plus.
